ASU Next Lab
ASU Next Lab × Zoom
We are Zoom Fellows at ASU's NEXT Lab. Student builders at Arizona State University working on real tools on top of Zoom: live classroom assistants, accessibility-first interview practice, and meeting-aware learning experiences.
The 2025 fellows
Each fellow is taking a different angle on what Zoom can do for learning, from AI mock interviews to live lecture support.

Builds live, classroom-adjacent tools that turn meeting context into more responsive learning experiences.
A meeting-aware companion that turns live conversation into structured, useful classroom output.
The lab behind it
Next Lab is the innovation hub inside ASU Enterprise Technology, a studio where future-focused students build on emerging technology.
The Zoom Fellowship lives here: a partnership between Zoom and Next Lab that puts students on the platform's real developer tools and treats what they build as real products.
A student-led, partner-funded studio inside ASU Enterprise Technology, led by executive director Dan Munnerley.
Fellows prototype real features with Zoom's developer platform, from meeting apps and SDKs to AI tooling.
Build live products on top of Zoom and mentor ASU Spark Challenge participants along the way.
Generative AI, accessibility, and meeting-aware learning experiences designed for real classrooms.
Behind the scenes
The fellowship isn't just the five of us. Amanda runs the program day to day, and our partners at Zoom keep us building and connected to the platform.
Amanda manages the fellowship and our tasks. She plans the work, keeps our projects moving, and handles the studio logistics behind it.
Jen is our developer advocate at Zoom. She answers SDK questions, reviews what we build, and champions student work inside the company.
Johann leads Zoom's global education strategy. He connects the fellowship to Zoom's work across schools and universities and helps bring student projects to a wider audience.
Inaugural cohort
Liam and Neha were part of the inaugural Zoom Fellowship at ASU and mentored this year's cohort into it.
